BHS Youth Career Connect/STEM Program Awarded
$495,674 Massachusetts Skills Capital Grant


On Friday, the BHS Youth Career Connect/STEM program was awarded a $495,674 Massachusetts Skills Capital Grant to support Advanced Manufacturing, Electronics and Engineering courses, part of almost $12 million in skills capital grants going to 32 vocational schools, community colleges and traditional public high schools.

Funds will go to purchase capital equipment and expand skills training programs for careers in growing industries. Present to receive the award were BHS Science Department Head Jonathan Shapiro, who recently received the first MassBioEd Champions for Biotechnology Education Award, and Science Teacher Dr. David Mangus, named The 2016 Raytheon Massachusetts STEM Teacher of the Year.
