To the Brockton Community,
Another successful school year has come to an end as we proudly graduated more than 1,000 students and awarded Certificates of Recognition to hundreds of high achievers across the district in academics, athletics and the arts.
As our students and staff take a much-needed summer break, our continued focus is to address an unprecedented $16 million budget deficit that has prompted relentless advocacy on the local, state and federal levels.
We will work to secure all available funding for equitable resources, class sizes and staffing to continue to provide the educational excellence you expect from the Brockton Public Schools.
Work has begun to rebuild the district. We are researching the possibility of a Proposition 2 ½ override and an Equity in Education lawsuit in the coming months. I urge you to watch for our Save Our Schools, Brockton Kids Count advocacy campaign.
Updates will be posted here in the FY18 Budget Updates bubble on the home page, in our News and Information section in the Pressroom, and on our Facebook pages at Brockton Public Schools and Brockton Kids Count.
Please join our efforts to show that not only do Brockton Kids Count, all kids count.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Anything can be accomplished by working together to achieve our goals.
