Dear BPS Families,
It is with deep sorrow that I share that a 10th grade member of the Brockton High School community passed away unexpectedly Friday. We are withholding the student’s name out of respect for her loved ones’ privacy.
Our Student Support Services Department is working with Dr. Murray and the administrative staff at Brockton High School to provide emotional support and counseling. Any student who needs to speak to a school adjustment counselor is encouraged to visit Brockton High School from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 26. Please enter school grounds via the Belmont Street entrance and a staff member will meet you outside in the courtyard between the Azure and Green buildings. Physical distancing restrictions will be in place and all in attendance must wear a mask.
Anyone who is not visiting Brockton High School for counseling services will be turned away at the entrance. We thank the public for respecting our students’ privacy as they cope with this unimaginable loss.
Our hearts are with the student’s loved ones, classmates and teachers. Please know that the entire school community is here to support you now and in the days and weeks ahead.
Sincerely,
Superintendent Thomas
