Brockton Public Schools have been awarded a Food Security Infrastructure Grant (FSIG) from the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs to strengthen the local food system in the City of Brockton.

"During the holiday season and the continued health crisis, it is vital that our families in the City of Brockton receive increased access to healthy, local food and we are excited to be a recipient of this award.  We are honored to be among the 231 projects to receive funding out of an unprecedented 1,300 applications," said Brockton Mayor Robert F. Sullivan.  "Our sincere thanks to the Baker-Polito Administration and our State delegation."

"It is critical and timely for us to address access to healthy, local food and meet the needs of many of our students and families facing urgent food insecurity as a result of the coronavirus pandemic," said Brockton Public Schools Superintendent Michael Thomas.
