BHS Student Places 1st in METG Scholarship Audition;
Another Wins Honorable Mention
The Massachusetts Educational Theatre Guide held the annual scholarships auditions for Acting and Set Design last week at St. John's Preparatory School in Danvers.
With 112 entries in Acting Monologues from all around the state of Massachusetts, a student at Brockton High School placed first.
We are so excited and thrilled that Marshall Delpe took first place with his monologue from Fences by August Wilson. Marshall will be performing his state winning monologue at the Back Bay Events Center in March 2017.
He will be awarded the financial scholarship at this event as well. This is the second year running that Brockton High School earned first place at this rigorous competition. Another Brockton High student, Anna Coutts, won an honorable mention award for her set design concept from the play, No Exit.
We are all very proud of her achievements as well. Both Marshall and Anna will be invited to a Gala in Rockport, MA with their families in April. It is here that Marshall will present his award-winning piece to theatre professionals from around the state.
